For Woodworkers of all Skill Levels

This class is designed for anyone ranging from those who have never mixed epoxy, to those who have made many epoxy tables but are ready to take the next step in perfecting their craft. However, some woodworking experience is required. You should feel comfortable with a variety of power tools before attempting one of these tables.

Rewatch as Much as You Want

You can rewatch this course as many times as you would like. It can be hard to watch a video in the shop though. So I made a step-by-step PDF guide that is a little easier to reference in the middle of mixing epoxy. Included with your purchase of course.

What to Expect After Completing This Course?

So long as you have some basic woodworking knowledge and access to some tools, you will be able to make an epoxy table from start to finish.

You will be able to:

  • Confidently buy wood that is dried to your climate, treated for bugs, and ready to work with

  • Choose a layout that will separate you from 90% of the epoxy table makers

  • Properly prepare your wood

  • Build a form that is guaranteed leak-proof. We’ll also cover stopping leaks. In case you skip a section

  • Mix and calculate the correct amount of epoxy needed

  • Learn how to get the exact color you are hoping for. And be able to match that color later if desired.

  • Flatten your table once cured

  • Learn how to properly sand and finish your table

  • Learn how to attach table legs, accounting for seasonal wood movement

  • How to care for your table to keep it looking as new as possible for as long as possible

  • Finally, how to refresh/or refinish your table if needed.

What is included?

You will follow along through the entire process of building an epoxy and wood table from start to finish. Shopping for wood, choosing a layout, surfacing, sanding, getting a perfect finish a dusty shop, and more!

  • Over three hours of content broken down into short chapters. Pause, rewatch or skip ahead as much as you'd like.

  • A detailed step-by-step PDF guide. Basically, the workshop in text form.

  • A summarized course outline with room for you to take notes while watching the workshop.

  • A detailed list of tools, consumables, and materials. Along with links for most items.

  • Access to exclusive unlisted Youtube videos related to epoxy table making.

  • Q&A with real people, asking real questions in real-time while filming this course (questions came in from Instagram Live). This mimicked aspects of the in-person workshops where I fielded some good questions... and some bizarre questions.

  • 10% off wood slabs from Goby Walnut (This can more than pay for the workshop by itself)

  • Much more!

Hey, I’m Cam

I am the owner and sole employee of Blacktail Studio. In less than five years I have gone from a novice woodworker who ruined his first epoxy table to one of the world's most foremost experts on not just making epoxy tables but educating others on the topic. My epoxy builds and tutorials have gotten over 90 million views on Youtube and are the driving force behind my channel recently surpassing one million subscribers.

I am not just a Youtuber though. I am a full-time woodworking shop as well. My first epoxy table sale was for $900. Today my tables range from $10,000 to over $30,000.

I have also hosted many in-person workshops with dozens of attendees from around the world. I have taken the best parts of these in-person workshops and integrated them into this virtual workshop.

my resume

If you'd like to see some of the work I've done, feel free to check out my Youtube page here. If you want to "try before you buy". You can still learn a ton from my free Youtube videos. However, since those videos are primarily created as entertainment, a lot of details get left out. This course is for those serious about wanting to learn the craft.

Thank you Cam. 50% of everything I thought I knew I did totally wrong, the next 50% I learned from your workshop took my understanding and application to new heights! This is the most comprehensive instruction I’ve ever seen in 3 years of experimenting with trial and error, not to mention total FLOPS…expensive! I’m now empowered with a renewed confidence to make the BEST product possible. Cam, keep it coming. A Fan for life. Thank You.

Cam! This workshop was fantastic! The tips and tricks in addition to all the guidance was top notch, a friend and I were going to start making a table and I am so glad I came across your content first. I just finished pouring for a small practice project with some scraps and going through it all I felt so much more confident we were doing things correctly, there were so many steps that I would have had to just guess or would have been stressed doing things on the fly. I’m a little over 12 hours past the pour and my mold has zero leaks, the color is just what I was hoping for and I mixed up exactly how much I needed. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I know I will be even more confident and prepared when we do the real table soon.

I've been trying to watch all your videos and piece things together on my own. Pages and pages of notes scattered all over just was confusing me. This is perfect! Thanks for putting this together - happy to support all the excellent work you have done.

Best $199 I ever spent. I love how you go through each step thoroughly, I find it very helpful. Thank you for taking your time to do this for everyone.

Past projects

I have lost track of exactly how many epoxy tables I have made, but I'd say somewhere over 60 total. I have become known for my black resin with walnut, but I have experience with many colors and styles. To make sure everyone is covered, I show examples of clear, metallic, tinted, and solid tables throughout the workshop. Check out a couple of my past projects below as well.
