This desk all starts with the remarkable single slab of locally salvaged Oregon Black Walnut sourced for the top. There is no trick photography, the incredible color and figure looks almost too amazing to be real though. instead of hiding the natural cracks, they were highlighted by filling with real brass infused resin. Supporting this top is a custom walnut base. If you look closely, the grain appears to be a mirror image of itself from left to right. This was a complicated bookmatch process. Rarely, if ever applied to table bases outside of Blacktail Studio.

To provide functionality and style, solid brass electronics were flush mounted and fitted to the top. Dual USB, 110v power, an LED light, along with a dimmer switch are all seamlessly incorporated in the top. Underneath there is additional power for accessories and complete wire management/concealment.
